12-City Tour with Yonatan Shapira

We, Air Force pilots who have always served on the front lines, willing to carry out any mission to defend and strengthen the State of Israel... refuse to continue to harm innocent civilians. These actions are illegal and immoral, and are a direct result of the ongoing occupation which is corrupting all of Israeli society.

Brit Tzedek v'Shalom is pleased to announce that our 12-city speaking tour with Yonatan Shapira will launch with a workshop at our national conference. The tour will then proceed to Philadelphia, Washington, DC, Berkeley, Seattle, Olympia, Portland, Madison, Indianapolis, Bloomington, St. Louis, and finally, Chicago. The national tour is co-sponsored by the Refuser Solidarity Network. For updated information, check our tour page.

Israeli Air Force Pilot Yonatan Shapira served as a senior officer in the elite "Black Hawk" helicopter squadron for 11 years. In October 2003, he authored the Pilots' Letter, which declared his refusal to participate in aerial attacks on populated areas in the Palestinian territories. The letter has since been signed by 26 other pilots. Shapira will discuss his courageous decision to refuse, as well as his perspective on how the occupation is hurting Israel's security and democracy.
