The Membership Chair is responsible broadly for ensuring the NYC chapter is cultivating and utilizing our volunteers to strengthen our presence in NYC and our impact in DC. The time commitment varies by season but an ambitious chair can expect to volunteer 5-10 hours a week. The position relies heavily on email and some phone, with regular monthly meetings. This position is a member of the NYC Chapter Steering Committee.

Duties:

- Ensure membership recruitment efforts are integrated into each of our events and campaigns.
- Research and welcome new supporters and members.
- Maintain records of new and existing volunteers, their interests, and connect them to appropriate projects and project leaders.
- Coordinate membership drives as the Steering Committee sees necessary.
