The U.S. will soon elect a new President and Congress. If they are to aggressively pursue a durable peace from the start, they will need a solid political base of grassroots support. Now is a critical time for Brit Tzedek's work.  Will you join us?  Become a member today, as thousands of others have.

What do membership dues fund?

Membership dues form the backbone of financial support for all of Brit Tzedek's work. Approximately one half of the organization's overall budget comes from contributions from our individual members (the rest is from a small number of major donors and foundations).

What do these dues cover?

  • Salaries and benefits of our small and dedicated staff, including executive and deputy directors,  chapter organizer, DC representative, and administrative staff
  • Rent for our offices in Chicago, NYC, and DC
  • Costs related to staying in touch with our members by email and mail, and maintenance of our website
  • All materials associated with the operation of the organization
  • Payment to every chartered chapter of $6/year for every chapter member in good standing. Hence, the dues also form the full basis of the each chapter’s operations, including the costs of rental space for events, advertising, photocopying, the chapter phone, postage for our newsletters, etc. (All labor at the chapter level is volunteer so there are no chapter-level personnel costs).

What is the work of Brit Tzedek's staff?

  • Write and issue action alerts, educational materials, media and other communications
  • Develop and manage national campaigns
  • Plan and execute speaker tours, conferences, and most notably our flagship annual National Advocacy Days and Grassroots Leadership Training Institute
  • Fundraise among our major donors and foundations
  • Maintain the national website and national database
  • Coordinate and support the activities of some 38 (and growing) chapters and our national committees
  • Grow and support the national Rabbinic Cabinet, producing and distributing publications and materials developed by Rabbinic Cabinet members

In other words, dues are the vital lifeblood of the organization -- both for the national organization, and for the chapters, including your own. Joining Brit Tzedek, or renewing your membership, is a significant way to support the organization, and help it in its effort to bring about a two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
