Please Come with
Brit Tzedek to Israel
Diane M. Cantor, Executive Director
It is time to pack your suitcase
and join Brit Tzedek on a very special trip to Israel in January
2008 to meet with policymakers and peace activists to see
firsthand what is happening on the ground. Whether you
have made many past visits or if this will be your first time,
the Meretz USA Israel Symposium, co-sponsored by Brit Tzedek
v’Shalom and Meretz USA, is a one-of-a-kind
opportunity to reinvigorate your activism for peace.
It’s Not For Everyone: But It
Is Perfect for Those Seeking the Seeds of Peace

The Symposium is a highly-packed week in which we
will have personal meetings with members of Knesset representing
many parties, spend a day in Ramallah meeting with top
Palestinian leaders, visit settlement leaders in the West
Bank, spend time with a variety of peace activists
including Peace Now, the Geneva Initiative, Breaking the
Silence, All for Peace, Moussawa, Women in Black and much
more. We will take the B’Telem Jerusalem Envelope
Tour and will have the exciting opportunity to interview the
interviewers when we meet with journalists such as Akiva Eldar,
Zvi Barel, Amira Hass and Danny Rubenstein. You will
really need to be rested before you set out, with so much to do
in the company of others just like you, who dedicate their time
and energy to the pursuit of peace. This is a wonderful
way to renew yourself and come back to your community with
stories, pictures, and firsthand

for This Pilot Partnership Between Brit Tzedek and Meretz:
Enjoy an Outstanding Value
years, Brit Tzedek has had requests from volunteers and leaders
seeking affordable ways to experience Israel, not as a
sight-seeing trip, but to explore the challenges Israel is
facing and to gain inspiration and motivation both from
the activism for peace brought about by Israelis and
Palestinians. We are delighted to join with Meretz
USA and hope it will be the catalyst for an expanded dimension
of Brit Tzedek’s work: Tours for Peace. You
have the opportunity to participate in the very first one.
Why Now: Why Should I Go?
International Peace Conference anticipated to take place in
Annapolis in December, all eyes will be focused on the
deliberations of Israel and her Arab neighbors. The world
will be watching the outcomes of the conference carefully,
hoping for steps taken to achieve solutions to final status
issues. Attending the Symposium will be the ideal
way to connect yourself firsthand to the people and places and
the decisions which must be made to achieve a lasting resolution
to the conflict.
Who Should Go?
We know that diversity,
economy, quality, and access to decision-makers, is vital to
you. You are volunteers, activists, generous donors,
philanthropists, religious leaders, concerned pioneers for
social justice and leaders of your communities. And this
trip is dedicated to the issue and the insightful exploration
you value. We regret that only 14 places remain.
Please make one of them your own.
How Much Does It Cost?
$1700 per person,
double occupancy; $2100 per person, single occupancy
land package includes: seven nights at a four-star hotel in
Jerusalem; three meals a day; transportation within Israel.
Approximately $1000 additional costs for trip to Jordan.
