[BTvS - DC Metro] Steering Committee Meets Monday February 5!!

Dear Metro DC Brit Tzedek Supporters:

I am the new Chair of our chapter here in the DC area. We are
having a meeting of our Steering Committee Monday February 5 at
6:30pm. We will meet in the upstairs area of Zorbas Restaurant
at Dupont Circle. The address is 1612 20th St. NW. Everyone is
welcome to attend.

Brit Tzedek is about to kickoff a new national campaign.

The Let's Talk Campaign has two major goals:
-US diplomatic engagement in resolving the
Israeli-Palestinian conflict, by urgently promoting and
facilitating talks between Israel and the Palestinians, as well
as Israel and Syria and Israel and Lebanon
-Create a renewed and deliberate dialogue and debate
within the American Jewish community about a negotiated two
state resolution.

Another important matter that I want to raise with you is the
growing problem of how non-Jews perceive Israel and how some of
the large communal organizations are addressing this difficult
problem. At our meeting on Monday, I will report on my own
experience discussing Jimmy Carter's book with a group of people
from Arab backgrounds as well as other folks who hold a range of
political perspectives. Hopefully, we will have time to discuss
some of the materials that have been released recently. I will
email some web resources soon.

We are facing some difficult, but interesting challenges. I feel
intellectually challenged. Please consider getting involved and
helping us to (as a popular activist phrase goes) Educate,
Agitate & Organize......for peace and security for all.

Do come to our exciting, controversy laden meeting !!!

Thanks very much,

Lee Diamond
