Combatants for Peace is a group of Israelis and Palestinians
(currently numbering about 150) who previously were engaged in
the cycle of violence between the two peoples. The Israelis are
all former combat soldiers -- pilots, tank commanders and
members of elite units. The Palestinians have all participated
in violent actions against Israeli targets, and most have served
time in Israeli prisons. After brandishing weapons for so many
years, these former combatants have realized the futility of the
violence they perpetuated upon each other. In a unified voice
they have renounced violence and are calling for a peaceful
resolution to the seemingly intractable conflict between their
peoples. They hope to serve as an inspiration and example to
those who continue to engage in violence, and they ultimately
intend to influence their political leaders to meaningfully
pursue peace.

The event at the Skirball Cultural Center is also co-sponsored
by Americans for Peace Now, Rabbi Haim Beliak &
www.jewsonfirst.org , B'Nai Horin -- Children of Freedom,
CODEPINK, Rabbi Neil Comess-Daniels, Dr. Jordan Farkas
Foundation, Rabbi Steven B. Jacobs' Progressive Faith
Foundation, the Islamic Center of Los Angeles, the Levantine
Cultural Center, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, and others.
