[BTvS-DC Metro] Chapter Training with Carinne Luck and Hanukkah event

Dear BTVS Members and Friends,

To get 2007 off to a good start, we'll be holding a chapter
training with BTVS National Organizer, Carinne Luck, on Tuesday,
December 12 (location TBA) at 6:30 pm. Possible topics that will
be addressed:

-Training on outreach - how to recruit activists

-Training on working with organized Jewish community

-Discussion on how to build a strong steering committee

-Discussion on how to structure programming for the year

-A general opportunity for you to ask questions about Brit
Tzedek etc...
If you have a particular item that you would like addressed,
please email me at rebeccazimdc@yahoo.com

Then save the date and come to our Peace Hanukkah event on
December 18! We'll light candles, sing peace and Hanukkah songs,
eat latkes & suphganiyot, and get ourselves re-energized to for
working together in '07 for peace and reconciliation between
Israel and its neighbors. The event will take place in Takoma
Park near the metro (more info forthcoming--thank you Lou Lieb
for hosting!) and will probably start between 7 and 8pm (exact
time will be nailed down soon). Rabbi Ben Biber will be
facilitating the singing and discussion and we welcome your
contributions as well. Please let us know if you can bring
latkes, jelly donuts or other refreshments and feel free to
bring your own Hanukkiyyah and dreidel!

Lastly, keep your eyes open for a BTVS action alert on the Iraq
Survey Group's recent report, which lays out a series of steps
dealing with Arab-Israeli peace as critical components of
gaining broader regional support for dealing with Iraq. You can
