7:15-9:00: Following recent events, including the Second Lebanon
War, Marcia Freedman, will address what opportunities exist at
the present time to move the peace process forward, and what
stands in its way.
Marcia is the National President of Brit Tzedek. She is a former
member of the Israeli Knesset, a long time activist in both
Israel and the U.S., and a remarkably astute analyst and
strategist in the effort to bring peace to the conflict.
Marcia will share specifics about the impact Brit Tzedek was
able to have during the recent crisis drawing upon the work of
34 chapters as well as the advocacy work of our national
organization. Based on these efforts, she will discuss what we,
the American Jewish community, can do to secure greater
engagement by our government in brokering a peace between
Israel, the Palestinians, Syria and Lebanon. She will outline
the critical role she sees for Brit Tzedek in the months ahead.
