WANTED: Nominees for Brit Tzedek's Board of Directors

If you or anyone you know is interested in being considered for Brit Tzedek's board of directors, please email info@btvshalom.org by May 19, 2006.

Brit Tzedek's board consists of 24 members. The board term is 3 years, with a maximum of 2 terms.

We are a grassroots working board. Board members commit to 10-15 hours a month of volunteer time, either as an active committee member, chapter leader or activist, or by providing specialized knowledge and skills. One to two hours of this time is spent on monthly board conference calls. We come together face to face once or twice a year, as possible, usually for day-long meeting. A great deal of our business is conducted by email, and board members are expected to keep up with and participate in email discussions and votes.

The nominating committee is composed of board members and non-board members. It is charged with providing the board with a list of all candidates that have been nominated and ranking them in terms of suitability at this time. The board determines the final slate, which then must be ratified by the membership.

Only members in good standing (those who have joined or renewed in the past year) may vote or be elected, but anyone can nominate a candidate or themselves.

If you are not sure whether your membership is current, please write to info@btvshalom.org
