|Ancestral Home or Occupied Territory: How the Bible is Used in the Political Debate in Israel|
The Bible is vibrantly alive in the debate between Right and Left in Israel about the West Bank. To the Settler Movement (Gush Emunim) it is the Biblically promised Judea and Samaria; the core of the Israelite Kingdom. The Biblical promise of this land is the paramount guiding principle. We will read and explore the foundational Biblical texts for each camp.
