Ian S. Lustick is the Bess W. Heyman Professor of Political Science at the University of Pennsylvania. He has written and/or edited eighteen books and dozens of scholarly articles on topics ranging from the future of Jerusalem, religious fundamentalism, and Jewish-Arab relations in Israel to comparative history and computer modeling of political identity. He is a founder and past President of the Association for Israel Studies, has worked in the State Department on Israel-Palestinian issues, and serves regularly as a consultant on Middle East affairs for the U.S. government.
