Cherie Brown, a Brit Tzedek board member, is the founder and executive director of the National Coalition Building Institute (NCBI), in Washington, DC which teaches community leaders to work together in teams to lead prejudice reduction, inter-group conflict resolution and perform coalition building work. In addition, Cherie has been involved in Middle East peace work for 34 years, including helping to found Breira, New Jewish Agenda, Break the Silence, and the Tikkun Community. She has led Black-Jewish coalition building work for 30 years. She is the author of many leadership training manuals including: The Art of Coalition Building, A Guide to Community Leaders, Working It Out: Blacks and Jews on College Campuses and Healing into Action: A Leadership Guide for Creating Diverse Communities.
