BONNIE ALPERT, Boston Chapter Advocacy Co-Chair and member of the National Advocacy Committee, was a social worker in Israel in 1968 and again from 1972-74.   Her Israel advocacy experiences dates back to 1969.

Upon “retiring” three years ago from her latest career (marketing product management) she became active in Brit Tzedek and also worked for progressive political candidates at the national, state and local levels.  A former president of the Friends of the Winchester Public Library, she recently was elected a Library Trustee.  She has sung in a temple choir and a community chorus, and is a member of the lifelong learning program at Brandeis University, taking several courses each semester.  She also studies watercolor painting and will exhibit this July at the library on Cranberry Island, Maine where she and her husband Nathan Rome vacation each summer.  And above all, she is the proud mother of four grown children.
