Chapter Update
The third organizing meeting of the San Diego Chapter was held on June 28, 7:00p.m. The meeting began with each member introducing themselves with a brief personal history of what led them to affiliating with Brit Tzedek, especially their personal journey to espousing the peace process to solve the Israeli-Palestinian conflict over all other strategies.

Marcia Patt, Acting Director, having just returned from Washington, D. C. to attend the Brit Tzedek Training Institute and Advocacy Days, gave a detailed report of the over 100 Congressional offices where delegations from Brit Tzedek v'Shalom had met with staff or Representatives to lobby for the two Peace Envoy Resolutions introduced by Senator Dianne Feinstein and our own Representative Susan Davis.

A decision was made to have our members actively emulate the actions of the national Advocacy campaign. Our members will arrange meetings with our Congressional representatives during the Congressional recess. We plan to urge them to sign on to Rep. Susan Davis House Resolution 143 and to urge Senator Boxer to sign on to Sen. Feinstein's Senate Resolution 224. Both call for an immediate high-ranking permanent peace envoy to begin the serious process of peace negotiations between the Israelis and Palestinians.

It is clear that the San Diego Chapter of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom fills a vacuum that has existed in our Jewish Community. Several of our members had been active in the Jewish-Palestinian Dialogue Movement here in San Diego. Brit Tzedek v'Shalom - the largest Jewish grassroots peace organization has chapters that are expanding across the country. Clearly, the ranks of those in the Jewish Community who believe that there is more than one way to support Israel are growing everywhere.

June 28th from 7-9pm
Second organizational meeting of a new local chapter of Brit Tzedek v'Shalom! Marcia Patt, acting co-director just returned from a training and advocacy workshop in Washington, DC with Brit Tzedek V'Shalom. She will speak about her experiences and help to kick start our local advocacy work. The meeting will take place at the Community Center at 350 W. Ash St (it is in a Condo complex) in Little Italy on .

April 16-19, 2007

Director of Chapter and Grassroots Development Carinne Luck will be traveling to the San Diego metro area this coming April 16-19 to meet with supporters who have expressed an interest in starting a Brit Tzedek chapter in the area, and increasing the pro-peace presence within the San Diego metro area's Jewish community.

She would like to meet with as many members as possible during this time. Please let her know if you would be interested in meeting with her, either individually or as part of a larger group, so we can discuss the best way to bring our message of vigorous US engagement towards a negotiated and just two-state resolution to the greater San Diego district.

To find out more about what Brit Tzedek is currently doing, you can go to the website for Brit Tzedek's latest campaign, Let's Talk! . In addition to this campaign, Brit Tzedek provides its activists with media and advocacy opportunities, resources and educational materials, and speakers. Brit Tzedek v'Shalom hopes you will take advantage of these opportunities, and join our network of 39 chapters as we demonstrate that there are American Jews who support a negotiated two-state resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
